Setting Up Google Docs with PDF Embed Stack

The PDF Embed stack can do a lot more than just PDFs. It can also do Google Docs pages and this FAQ will explain how easy it is to do.

First, after you add the PDF stack to your page, you will want to find the stack settings and change the Embed Viewer from Browser Plugin to Google Viewer.

Now you will want to go to your Google Docs page. Once you open your Google Doc that you want on your website, you want to be sure that your file has the appropriate sharing settings. So you will want to click on the Blue Share Button that is in the upper right corner of the docs page.

When you click on the Share button, a new sheet will appear over the Docs page. In the lower right corner of this sheet is the word Advanced, click on this.

When you click on the word Advanced a new sheet appears. This is the Sharing Settings sheet. When this appears, you will notice a link that says Change next to the private settings.

Click on the link that says Change and this will bring up the Link Sharing settings.

When this pops up, you will want to change the sharing settings from Off to On - Public on the web, then click on save. You will be brought back to the Sharing Settings.

Near the top of this sheet will be a link. You will want to copy this link. Now, after all of that work, you can go back into your RapidWeaver Project.

Once you get back in the settings, click the Set Link under the URL and it will bring up the RapidWeaver Link Sheet.

Paste in code into the URL setting and click on the Set Link Button. Then preview the page and you should see your Google Doc on your RapidWeaver Page.

Once you publish your RW site to the web, you can make changes to your Google Doc page and those changes will show on the website.
