Using Font Awesome with Let It Snow

Let It Snow is a great stack to add snow flakes to your website, but you can do a lot more than just snow. As explained with the Let It Snow Basic Setup FAQ, you can use any letter or character. But, you can also use Font Awesome icons. So if you wanted to use the icon for Valentines day. Follow the instructions below to use Font Awesome icons with Let It Snow stack.

First, you need to be sure to have version 1.2.0 of the Let It Snow stacks which now requires Stacks 3. If you do not have Stacks 3, this can still be done, but you will also need to have the Font Awesome Stack on the page somewhere.

1. Drop a Let It Snow stack onto your page.

2. Go to the Font Awesome Icons page and find the icon or icons you want to use.

   

3. Click on the icon you want to use so you can get the code for the icon. In our example we are going to be using the Heart icon, the code for which is this: <i class="fa fa-heart"></i>

   

4. You then copy that code and go to the Let It Snow Settings. Find the setting labeled Snowflakes

   

5. Paste the copied code from Font Awesome into this stack setting, and it will look like this. You also might want to change the colors of the icons, you have 5 colors to use.

   

6. You can use more than one icon too. after the first icon put a comma (,) and add the next font awesome icon. Now preview your page and you should see your icons floating down your screen.

   

Now instead of just snowflakes or other characters falling, you can have Font Awesome Icons!!!
